This week’s guidance lesson is on Social Emotional Learning by playing BINGO. Although it is not a traditional Bingo game with a center freebie space and call out cards. Please use it how you want – maybe work on a couple ideas/suggestions during the week or pick a column to work on. Find an idea that is challenging for you and get that done first! Get the entire family involved and you will be surprised what you can accomplish! Most of all, have fun with it! Please know, I am here to help if you need it. You can reach me at [email protected] and I will get back with you as soon as possible. Have a wonderful week and stay healthy.

Dear Wasatch Stars & Parents – This week’s guidance lessons are inside the packets you have picked up from school last week and if you didn’t pick up a packet, you can easily do your own mindfulness coloring. Please see list below that applies to your student.
K-2nd Grades – Please see the coloring poster on “When I am Upset” and color the page. Make sure that you do some deep breathing while coloring and think about what you do to help calm yourself down when upset. What strategies have you not tried? What strategies are easy for you to do? Hang up poster where it can be easily seen and used as needed.
3rd-4th Grades – Pleasesee the emoji coloring page. While coloring this page, don’t forget to do some deep breathing to help ground yourself from any disruptive or strong feelings. What feelings do you have a hard time communicating to others? What feelings do you “mask” and stuff it inside you? What feeling is the easiest to show and why?
5th-6th Grades – Please the coloring page that was included in your packet. While coloring this page, don’t forget to do some deep breathing to help ground yourself from any disruptive or strong feelings. Clear your minds and take a couple of deep breaths and color. Did this exercise help you to feel calmer? Did you notice your breath as you inhaled and exhaled? Did it make you feel better?
Last night, I tapped into my own creative side and I felt so much better afterwards knowing that I created something new and it was fun! Keep working on your creative and mindfulness skills, they are great coping skills to use when you have strong feelings. Please know, I am here to help if you need it. You can reach me at [email protected] and I will get back with you as soon as possible. Have a wonderful week! Mrs. Jaymes, School Counselor
April 27-May 1
Wasatch Stars & Parents – This week’s guidance lesson is all about being creative and trying something new! There are so many things you can do to tap into your creative side. You can paint a rock and leave it in the neighborhood for others to enjoy, try a new recipe, learn a new hobby or something you haven’t done before, create a new dance move, draw a picture for an elderly neighbor or create a story and write it down. The possibilities are endless and all it takes is for you to put down your electronic device and do something different. Enjoy your time being creative! I know that I am making more time to be creative this week. Have a wonderful week.
April 20-24 Deep Breathing

Hi Wasatch Stars!
This week you will be a continuation of last week’s lessons. K-3 students please continue to complete your daily social emotional learning worksheets from days 4-8. 4th-6th grade students will continue to look at different careers or jobs you are interested in doing when you grow up. Please see below: K-3 Grade Students:
Please download: “SEL daily check in” file located on Wasatch School’s website or from packets.
Continue to research careers of your choice. Interview a family member about their job/career and ask questions about what they like/don’t like, what type of training and education is needed, what tools are needed to get their job done and ask if they could go back to school/college would they continue their education?
Until then, take care, stay healthy and wash your hands often. If you need to talk, please have your parent(s) send me an email at: [email protected] and I will make arrangements for an online session or phone call.
